Meet Dave Caudill
Dave Caudill creates artworks of various scales for public, corporate, and private collections. His larger public sculptures are found at Louisiana’s Rip Van Winkle Gardens, East Tennessee’s Horizon Center Park, the University of Kentucky’s Singletary Center for the Arts and the University of Louisville School of Music. A body of 18 stainless steel garden sculptures is available for purchase and currently on exhibit at Yew Dell Gardens in Crestwood, KY.
Dave’s work in creating The Bolivian Odyssey, a stone labyrinth based on the design of a human fingerprint created as a walking meditation in Bolivia, has gained international attention. He is also one of the few sculptors in the world to have created an environmental undersea sculpture placed on the seabed near Nassau, The Bahamas.
Recent commissions include “The Birth of Hope” – a sculpture at the Lexington KY Detention Center on Old Frankfort Pike National Scenic Byway and “Fanfare” at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond. He also created the Spirit of Peace Award, which was presented to former First Lady Rosalynn Carter and others in recognition of their efforts to support mental health.
Caudill attended the University of Kentucky and the Louisville School of Art. Current professional affiliations include the International Sculpture Center and the Kentucky Museum of Art & Craft, of which he is an honorary board member. Dave was born in Corbin, Kentucky, and currently maintains his home & studio in Louisville, KY.
